Irish Poker Open – Boylesports adds cash to prizepool

Boylesports is to add €20,000 to this year’s Irish Poker Open prize pool as Europe’s largest live poker event continues to grow.

This year’s Irish Poker Open is scheduled to take place on October 16 to 18 at the Regency Hotel in Dublin – the €200+20 event attracted 1,440 runners from 18 countries last year, with German Markus Sippe, winning $62,250 for his efforts.

The tournament is one of the longest running in the world and remains a popular event, with the relatively modest buy in meaning that the standard remains wildly variable, while the size of the field generating a tantalising prize pool.

As well as adding the extra money into the prizepool, Boylesports are running an event that will see one IPO player who has qualified through their satellites earning entry into a free tournament where the winner will take away a $5,000 sponsorship package, with the runner up having their IPO 2011 buy in paid for.

The Irish bookmaker is also running daily satellites at €22 to allow players with limited bankrolls their shot at glory, while players earning 250 VIP points at Boylepoker in August or September will also get extra tournament chips to begin the event with.

It seems as if Boylesports are determined to make themselves the place to qualify for the IPO 2010.
