Three card brag is the latest card game to be launched online, with Betfred taking the plunge on offering one of England’s most traditional card games to internet customers.
Three card brag has undergone something of a revival since being featured in the popular film “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”
The game is pretty simple and fast moving, with each player being dealt three cards, putting down an ante and there’s one round of betting. Players can bet or fold as the action moves round – if there is a previous bet, the player must contribute at least that much more to the pot.
This continues until there are two players left, and then one player can “see” the other by doubling the bet – and then it’s showdown time.

A pair is usually the best hand around 75% of the time. Betfred are hoping the simplicity and speed of the game will make it a success online, while it also retains that bluffing element that poker offers.
